Episode Structure:
When originally released in Japan, the series was spread across 3 different networks, NTV, Hulu, and WOWOW.
Episode 1:- NTV (1 hour 33 minute TV special)
Episodes 2 – 5: Hulu Japan (~50 minutes each, covering the “Crimson Investigation File” storyline)
Episodes 6 – 9: WOWOW (~50 minutes each, covering the “Dark Crime File” storyline)
The episodes as listed on the streaming services in English are presented as the home media release and are listed in the chronological order rather than the confusing broadcast order across multiple services. The episode naming may be confusing, as each episode is unique and not different versions of the same story. All of the episodes are based on new original stories and only use characters inspired from the original manga and anime series.
